Shedding the Dinosaur Image?

Apparently this blog has been deemed a "dinosaur" by the powers that blog... sorry, life got in the way. I'll get the hang of this and eventually post regularly, but for the meantime I'll likely go in fits and starts.

We spent the holidays in Key West, just soaking up the sun (and wind) and enjoying the sights and sounds of Duval Street. The kids kept us running and we didn't go out on New Years Eve (lame), but we had a great time away from the snow and cold in New England.

I did find time to read while in Florida, which was nice for a change. I read Fast Food Nation several years ago and have had The Jungle on my list ever since. I finally picked it and up and finished it mid way through the trip. I realize it's a novel of sorts, but what a story! Not for the faint of heart and likely a bit extreme, but a good depiction of turn-of-the-century Chicago just the same. I also started Faithful, the story of the 2004 Red Sox season. I'm nearly to the point where Varitek suggests ARod should eat his Rawlings - the accepted turning point in the season - so it should start to pick up. (note: I absolutely love the fact that it turns out ARod is the Rawlings cover boy).

One more thought... I'm researching motivational speakers as part of my job and came across David Weinberger. Interesting fellow. If you have even a mild interest in the internet and haven't heard of the cluetrain manifesto, take a look.

Good night...
